Episode 3: Sitdown with Music Camp Chorus Director Susie Smith
In our next episode, Jamy Claire (“Pitch”) and Jackie (“Giggles”) are joined by Susie Smith, Carolina Harmony Director and Region 14 2026 Music Camp Chorus Director
Susie P. Smith has directed Carolina Harmony Chorus since 1997. After winning the Novice Director Award in her first competition, she then went on to qualify as a Sweet Adelines Certified Director, and then as a Master Director when Carolina Harmony scored over 600 points at their Regional competition in 2015. She has directed the chorus to two International Small Chorus 2nd Place wins in addition to three Small Chorus International Championships!
A member of Sweet Adelines since 1980, Susie has been an active quartet singer, competing many times in regional medalist quartets -- including four first place medals. She is also a popular coach for choruses and quartets throughout the Southeast.
Episode 2: All About Arranging with Melody Hine
In our next episode, Jamy Claire (“Pitch”) and Jackie (“Giggles”) are joined by none other than Region 14’s very own Melody Hine, arranger, director, tag singer, and more!
Melody Hine is a singer, arranger, and award-winning music educator with deep roots in the barbershop community. She is a certified BHS Music Judge and was the baritone of Hot Pursuit, the 2019 Harmony Incorporated International Champion Quartet.
Melody holds a degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia and is a NAfME Award recipient for excellence in music education.
She is a sought-after coach and clinician, working with ensembles across Harmony, Inc., Sweet Adelines, and BHS. Her published arrangements are available at melodyhinearrangements.com. As Musical Director of Parkside Melody, Melody brings a passion for vocal excellence, ensemble leadership, and creative collaboration. Along with her many quartets, Melody also sings with Song of Atlanta Chorus, directed by her mom, Becki Hine.
